A good burger is something I always crave. There are so many different elements and they are just delicious. I have been experimenting with different recipes for a while now and even decided to put two of my favorites to a family taste test which my two boys happily joined in on!
For my taste test I used two different recipes. One was rather simple with just some basic seasoning and the other was a little more complex with bbq sauce and onions. Well the bbq sauce and onions were by far the winner! My 5 and 3 year old ate them up faster than you can blink and my husband also agreed.
After we decided on this base we experimented with different toppings. We used bacon because well obviously, mozzarella cheese, avocado, and a fried egg (my favorite). The results were amazing. These are some of the best burgers I've eaten and am so pumped for some summer grilling! I even invested in a burger press and honestly I have always thought it was a waste of money but seriously they cook so much better! If you are on the fence definitely purchase one!
Smashingly Good Burgers

1/4 C BBQ Sauce (We love Sweet Baby Ray's)

Mix all ingredients together. I love using my kitchenaid mixer to combine ingredients because it does such a great job but just mixing with your hands will work just fine! This recipe makes 4 burgers. I typically weigh all the meat and make them into 4 equal size burgers but you can eye it up if that works best for you!
